The concept of the magazine Historicky kaleidoskop
The aim of the magazine is to support the interest of the Czech Republic citizens in the history of their native country, with special focus on the young generation. This concerns the history of the origin and the development of the Czechoslovak (Czech) Republic from the World War I to the year 1989.
In this context, Historicky kaleidoskop is above all inquiring into the events and personalities, which had their place in the struggle for freedom and democracy in the Czech Republic, be it legionnaires of the World War I, war veterans of the World War II, fighters for freedom, even thousands of other citizens whose conduct supported this struggle.
Historicky kaleidoskop publishes information about interesting people who through their deeds contributed to the freedom of the nation and democratic organization of the Republic. Important is also the true portrayal of frequently distorted events which have their place in the history of the CR. Through personal testimonies of eye witnesses, interviews with actual participants of events, we want to bring close to the public the atmosphere of the days gone by, which influenced the conduct of people as well as the decisionmaking of the government representatives. Through serious publishing activity we want to acquaint the readers with events, which they could not experience in person, but which they should know as citizens of their country.
Therefore, Historicky kaleidoskop presents, among others, activity of various civic associations, clubs and societies which in their activities appeal to the heritage of their ancestors, draw from the historic traditions of their localities and intend to develop these further as heritage for the future generations. In this respect, we also wish to present significantly the activities of all the organizations, companies, towns and villages which endeavour to preserve historical traditions and do not forget their honorary citizens fallen in the fight for freedom of their nation.
